Tiger Han is a music scholar at Sydney Grammar School and a passionate young pianist who enjoys exploring music both on and off the stage. He has been studying piano under the guidance of Dr. Crystal Zhao at the Sydney Piano School & Pedagogy Research Centre since the age of five.

Tiger showed strong musical promise early on, completing his AMusA in piano at just 10 years old, followed by his LMusA with High Distinction at age 12. As he enters his senior years at school, he continues to balance academic study with an intensive commitment to music.

He has received recognition at national and international levels, with awards from major competitions in Australia and overseas. These experiences have given him valuable opportunities to perform, learn from other musicians, and grow as a performer.

Tiger has appeared twice at the Sydney Opera House State Music Festivals and performed Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto at the 2022 NSW Schools Spectacular, playing before an audience of over 20,000.

Alongside solo performance, he is an enthusiastic collaborative musician. He plays organ and violin, regularly accompanies school choirs and ensembles, and enjoys chamber music, often performing in piano trios and quartets at community events.

This website forms part of Tiger’s ongoing project to share music beyond the concert hall — combining performance, learning, and personal reflection to make classical music more accessible and enjoyable for students and the wider community.

My musical philosophy

Tygerfy grew out of the way I experience music. For me, music is never just about playing the right notes. It’s about curiosity, imagination, and listening deeply. When I practice, I often pause at a single harmony or phrase, repeat it, and simply enjoy its sound. Tygerfy represents this way of thinking: slowing down, exploring details, and finding meaning in small musical moments.

This website is about more than playing the right notes. As a pianist and organist balancing my academic studies with a strong commitment to music, I believe classical music should be something we truly understand, explore, and enjoy. This site is part of my project for my Lecturer Concert, created to share live performances, composer background, interpretation insights, and self-learning tips with young students and the wider community.

My goal is to make classical music more accessible, relatable, and inspiring for the younger generation. I hope to encourage students to listen more deeply, practice more thoughtfully, and discover the beauty and hidden charm within the music — those small moments that make practicing rewarding and bring the music to life.
