I am learning to find my own voice through Chopin’s music.
My first Chopin Lecture Recital felt different from a normal concert.
It wasn’t only about performing pieces. It was about sharing how I experience Chopin’s music and what I discover while practicing.
While preparing this program, I spent a lot of time slowing down and listening carefully. Sometimes I stayed with one harmony or phrase for a long time, trying to understand its color and emotion. I also spent time reading Chopin: The Man and His Music by James Huneker, and browsing other websites and resources. This was not only to prepare the lecture, but also helped me understand Chopin better and feel more connected to his music.

My teacher gave me a lot of space to form my own style of interpretation. She introduced me to different interpretations, but left the final decisions to me, so I could gradually find my own way of performing these works.
Speaking about the music before playing was new for me. At first it felt challenging, but once the recital started, the talking and playing began to connect naturally.
What I appreciated most was the quiet focus in the room. It felt like everyone was listening together and discovering the music at the same time.
This recital is an important step in my musical journey. It encouraged me to be more curious, more thoughtful, and more open with my music.
Thank you to everyone who came and listened.
